While we are on the subject of Mel Gibson, does anyone remember the tolerant, balanced and non-violent reaction from the Jewish community over his anti-semetic drunken rants in the back of a taxi? There were NO death threats, no riots, no killings, no burning effegies, no smashing buildings and no attacks on Australians or people named Mel. Some Rabbis even invited him for dialogue and gave him an opportunity to discuss and apologize, so they could forgive him.
Compare this to the many many reactions in the islamic world to similar events, killings, riots, death threats, burning flags of denmark, assassinations of film makers and journalists. Threats to boycott all Danish companies. Smashing embassies all over the world.
When you compare these two different approaches, ask yourselves should we really view Hamas and Hezbollah as similar to the Israeli defence forces? Should we really view them equally as two legitimate opponents in a territorial dispute?
Of course the answer is no, the Israelis will not come after Europe or America, if the Palestinians dissapear. However, if Israel is destroyed WE (the west) are next.
